Level A2-2: Grammaire en contexte

Catherine Nael - 24 lessons 340 / 305*

Objective: strengthen linguistic and grammatical knowledge from level A2-2

Description: grammar revision based on varied oral and written documents, authentic or literal. Each class will focus on a grammar point (tense, verbs construction, link words…), which will then be applied in a creative production made by the students.

From C1: Littérature thématique 

Myriam Bouzid - 24 lessons  - 340 / 305*

We will study extracts gathered according to their themes, written by authors who wrote in French. The authors belong to different movements and centuries; their works are of different kinds from poetry to essays not to mention novels.

The themes are chosen with the students. Each theme is seen through 4 texts form different authors.

From B2: Tribune libre

Emmanuelle Favreau - 24 lessons - 340 / 305*

This conversation course gives you the possibility to comment every Monday the previous week’s major international political, cultural and social events through different media (newspapers titles, newspapers and online articles, caricatures, pictures and TV news).

From A2-1: Le français des ONG

Shirley Heuveling - 24 lessons 340 / 305*

This course is meant for members of NGO who need French in the frame of their professional activities or for their professional travels. The course is organized around several objectives:

•    Communicational (ex: present one’s organization, written and oral communication-emails and telephone, express one’s opinion, prepare a travel)

•    Cultural (ex: particularities of the French as it is spoken in Africa, news from the French speaking countries, international institutions) through the study of authentic documents.

These objectives are defined in order to answer learners’ specific needs and facilitate their exchanges with French-speakers.

The course content will be determined regarding the learners’ requests and fields of action, but also according to the countries where they will deal with.

From B2: Entrez en littérature! 

Adrien Scharff - 24 lessons - 340 / 305*

You are interested in French literature and do not know where to start ?
You wish to discover several classical and contemporary authors and impress your friends with your extended literary knowledge? This course is for you! We will tackle the most important literary movements and their major works from the 17th Century up to now. We will discover numerous important authors and their works from which we’ll read representative extracts.

1 x 1,5h per week    Friday    6.30pm- 8pm      22 jan – 21 may

From Level C1: Coup de théâtre!

Emmanuelle Favreau - 24 lessons - 290 / 265*

This theatre group, started in September 2007, has had great success with the representations: Le Petit, train, an action of a theatre of Patrick Modiano in June 2008 and remittance and question, a patchwork of modern and current plays, in June 2009.
This workshop is aimed to French-speakers and anyone who is fluent in French and is aimed at the study of scenes from theatre pieces that will be stepped up during a theatrical evening. The date will be announced later.
